Staying clean is nothing new to HandWritten Massage & Wellness, where we prioritize sanitation as part of our holistic health services. Our commitment to cleanliness is especially crucial during the current health crisis with COVID-19 in Maryland and across the nation. We strive to keep both our clientele and staff safe while promoting information and awareness. Please take note of the policies and announcements outlined on this page and in your booking instructions.
Here’s what we have been doing and will continue moving forward:
Deep cleaning will take place at the studio before opening, after each therapeutic massage session, and prior to closing. As always, rooms will be prepared with fresh clean linen and face cradle covers.
All tools, surfaces, equipment, and any materials that may come into contact with the therapist or client will be thoroughly cleaned, sanitized, and disinfected.
Therapists will wash their hands, wear protective gear, and change gloves and linen between clients.
New clients are advised to fill out intake forms regarding their personal health prior to their session.
If a therapist is feeling unwell, they are directed to stay home. The client will be contacted to make arrangements for rescheduling.
PLEASE NOTE: Clients are expected to practice cleanliness and safety before and after visiting HandWritten Massage & Wellness. This includes showering or bathing before the session, washing hands prior to and after the session, using hand sanitizer, and properly wearing a face covering.
Due to COVID-19, we are temporarily limiting the number of daily appointments. The health and safety of our clients and staff is very important to us. For this reason, walk-in appointments will not be accepted, and clients not currently receiving a service will not be permitted inside the studio/clinic. If you are experiencing a fever, cough, or sore throat, please reschedule your appointment until you are no longer symptomatic. If you have been to a COVID-19-impacted area or been in close contact with someone infected with COVID-19, we ask that you please reschedule your appointment for 14 days after the date of contact. Please note, we request that clients wear face coverings when they arrive for their appointments. Either the client or therapist will be asked to call if either starts showing any apparent COVID-19 symptoms.
If any symptoms of illness are present, please reschedule immediately.
COVID symptoms include:
- Fever or chills
- Cough
- Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
- Fatigue
- Muscle or body aches
- Headache
- New loss of taste or smell
- Sore throat
- Congestion or runny nose
- Nausea or vomiting
- Diarrhea
Those found to have any of these symptoms when entering the studio will be asked to reschedule their appointment. We take pride in being an LGBTQ-friendly wellness center that cares for the health and well-being of all our clients.
